Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Heavy warm food load recently added, Failed evaporator fan motor, Low refrigerant charge or sealed system leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for initial checks; keep doors closed as much as possible.
Immediate actions:
- Verify all doors are fully closed and gaskets are sealing. Look for items blocking the door from closing.
- Check that the unit is powered and the interior lights come on.
- Listen for the compressor and fans running. If silent, there may be a separate fault.
Airflow and loading:
- Ensure vents inside the refrigerator and freezer are not blocked by food items.
- If a large quantity of warm food was recently added, allow 12–24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.
If temperature does not recover:
- Inspect the condenser coils at the rear or bottom for heavy dust; clean with a soft brush and vacuum.
- If the compressor runs continuously but temperatures remain high, there may be a sealed system issue (low refrigerant, restriction) that requires a licensed technician.
Note: The H1 code will usually clear automatically once temperatures return to normal.
