Possible Causes
Water inlet valve not closing fully, Ice maker fill time too long, Ice maker module misaligned, Low water pressure causing slow closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator and unplug the unit.
Inspection:
- Check the ice maker fill tube for partial blockage or misalignment directing water outside the mold.
- Inspect the ice bin for signs of water spilling over the mold.
Valve test:
- With water supply off, dry the area and then turn water back on while observing the fill tube (technician recommended).
- If water drips into the ice maker when it is not calling for water, the inlet valve is leaking internally and must be replaced.
Repair: Replace a leaking water inlet valve and correct any misalignment of the fill tube or ice maker assembly.
