Possible Causes

Defective dual water inlet valve, Clogged water filter, Kinked or frozen water line, Faulty flow meter (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the household water supply before disconnecting any water lines.

Steps to check:

  • Check water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is fully open and water pressure is adequate.
  • Inspect the filter: Replace the Thermador-approved water filter if it is older than 6 months or if flow is restricted. After replacement, run several liters of water to purge air.
  • Inspect lines: Check for kinks in the water line behind the refrigerator. In models with lines running through the freezer door, check for freezing in the door or hinge area.
  • Test the inlet valve: Access the rear lower panel to reach the dual water inlet valve. With power restored and using a multimeter or test cord (only if trained), verify that the valve coils receive voltage when dispensing. If voltage is present but no water flows, replace the valve.

Note: If E08 persists after filter and line checks, the valve or flow sensor may need replacement. Complex diagnostics should be done by a professional.
