Possible Causes
Defective ice maker water inlet valve, Clogged ice maker fill tube, Faulty ice maker fill sensor or timing circuit, Low water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before servicing the ice maker water system.
Steps to check:
- Check water pressure: Ensure household water pressure meets Thermador specifications. Very low pressure can cause fill errors.
- Inspect fill tube: Remove the ice maker and inspect the fill tube for ice blockage. Clear any ice using warm (not hot) water in a turkey baster.
- Test the inlet valve: Access the rear of the unit and locate the dual water inlet valve. Verify that the ice maker solenoid coil has proper resistance and is not open. Replace the valve if defective.
- Ice maker test: After restoring power, run an ice maker test cycle (if available). Observe the fill level. If it remains incorrect, the ice maker assembly may need replacement.
