How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before deep cleaning internal components.
Steps:
- 1. Remove all food: Discard spoiled items and store remaining food in a cool place temporarily.
- 2. Clean interior thoroughly: Wash all shelves, drawers, and walls with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry.
- 3. Check hidden areas: Remove drawers and inspect under and behind them for spills.
- 4. Clean door gaskets: Use a soft brush and mild cleaner to remove mold or residue from folds in the seals.
- 5. Clean drain pan: Access the rear drain pan and clean out any sludge or mold. Rinse and dry.
- 6. Replace odor filter: If your V-ZUG model has an active carbon or anti-odor filter, replace it according to the manual.
- 7. Air out the unit: Leave doors open for several hours with the appliance unplugged to ventilate.
Warning: Do not use harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia inside the refrigerator; fumes can contaminate food.
