Possible Causes
Loose or damaged data cable between main PCB and display PCB,Corroded connectors at control modules,Faulty user interface board,Defective main control board communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing any panels.
Steps:
- 1. Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect. If F13 returns, proceed with inspection.
- 2. Access user interface: Remove the trim and screws around the display/control panel. Carefully pull it forward.
- 3. Inspect ribbon/data cable: Check the cable for kinks, cuts, or signs of moisture. Ensure both ends are fully seated in their connectors.
- 4. Clean connectors: If corrosion is visible, use electrical contact cleaner and allow to dry fully before reconnecting.
- 5. Check main control board connections: At the rear, open the PCB housing and verify that the communication harness is properly connected.
- 6. Replace faulty board: If cables are intact but F13 persists, either the user interface PCB or main PCB is defective. Replace the more accessible user interface first, using the correct V-ZUG part.
- 7. If problem remains: Replace or have a technician test the main control board.
Warning: Handle ribbon cables gently; they are easily damaged.
