How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the ice maker function and unplug the refrigerator before working in the ice compartment.

Steps:

  • 1. Check water supply: Ensure the household water valve to the refrigerator is open and the V-ZUG water filter (if fitted) is not clogged.
  • 2. Inspect ice bin and mechanism: Remove the ice bin and look for clumped ice blocking the ejector arms or auger. Discard old ice and clean the bin.
  • 3. Check for frozen fill tube: Inspect the water fill tube above the ice maker. If it is iced over, defrost it gently with warm air (not sharp tools).
  • 4. Reset ice maker: Some V-ZUG ice makers have a reset button or can be reset via the control panel. Perform a reset and observe if a test cycle starts.
  • 5. Inspect wiring and connectors: Ensure the ice maker harness is firmly connected and not damaged.
  • 6. Replace ice maker module: If the motor does not run during a test cycle and power is present, replace the complete V-ZUG ice maker assembly.

Warning: Shut off the water supply before disconnecting any water lines to prevent leaks.
