Possible Causes

Loose compressor mounting bolts,Refrigerant tubing contacting cabinet or each other,Loose rear panel or drip tray,Internal compressor mechanical wear

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before adjusting any components at the rear.

Steps:

  • 1. Check leveling: Ensure the refrigerator is level front-to-back and side-to-side using the adjustable feet.
  • 2. Inspect compressor mounts: Remove the rear cover and gently check the rubber mounts. Tighten mounting bolts if loose, but do not overtighten.
  • 3. Adjust tubing: Look for copper tubes touching each other or the cabinet. Carefully bend them slightly apart using gentle pressure.
  • 4. Secure loose parts: Tighten any loose screws on the rear panel, drip tray, or condenser.
  • 5. If knocking persists: Internal compressor wear may be the cause. This is not user-serviceable and may require compressor replacement by a V-ZUG technician.

Warning: Do not kink or sharply bend refrigerant lines; this can cause leaks.
