Water leaking from behind refrigerator or at water connection

Safety first: Turn off the household water supply to the refrigerator and unplug the appliance.

Steps:

• 1. Dry the area: Mop up water to identify the leak source more easily.
• 2. Inspect connections: Check the water line connection at the rear of the refrigerator and at any external filter. Tighten compression nuts gently if loose.
• 3. Examine tubing: Look for cracks, kinks, or pinholes in the plastic or copper tubing. Replace damaged sections with suitable food-grade tubing.
• 4. Check inlet valve: Inspect the V-ZUG water inlet valve for cracks or leaks at the body. Replace the valve if leaking.
• 5. Test for leaks: Restore water supply and observe all joints for several minutes. Dry with a tissue to detect small leaks.

Warning: Do not overtighten plastic fittings; they can crack and worsen leaks.
