Possible Causes

Faulty DC fan with tach output, Broken tach wire in fan harness, PCB not reading fan pulses, Fan blades obstructed causing stall

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before touching any fan or wiring.

Steps to address E19 (fan tach fault):

  • Identify the affected fan: E19 often refers to an evaporator or condenser fan with speed feedback. Listen for which fan is not running or is noisy.
  • Inspect for obstructions: Remove any ice, debris, or wiring that may be blocking the fan blades.
  • Check fan connector: Ensure the multi-wire connector (including tach wire) is fully seated and not corroded.
  • Replace the fan: If the fan does not start or runs erratically despite correct voltage, replace it with a Vestfrost-compatible DC fan that includes the tach feedback line.
  • PCB diagnosis: If a known-good fan still triggers E19, the PCB input circuit may be faulty and require board replacement.

Note: Running with a non-tach fan where a tach fan is required can cause persistent error codes.
