• Clear defrost drain: Access the evaporator area and locate the drain hole beneath the coil. Use warm water and a flexible plastic probe to clear any ice or debris.
• Check sensor placement: Ensure the defrost sensor is clipped correctly to the evaporator tubing and not hanging loose or buried in insulation.
• Inspect insulation and liners: Look for signs of water saturation or liner deformation that might affect temperature readings.
• Reset and monitor: After clearing the drain and correcting sensor placement, restore power and monitor for normal defrost cycles and disappearance of E20.
• PCB evaluation: If abnormal defrost behavior continues, the control algorithm or board may be faulty and require replacement.
