How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before defrosting or testing components.
Steps to resolve heavy frost:
- Manual defrost: Remove food, unplug the unit, and allow all ice to melt. Use towels to collect water; do not use sharp tools.
- Test defrost components: Access the evaporator and check the defrost heater and sensor as described in the E3/E4/E9 procedures. Replace any faulty parts with Vestfrost-compatible components.
- Inspect door gaskets: Replace damaged or deformed freezer door seals to reduce moisture ingress.
- Control board check: If heater and sensor are good, the main PCB may not be initiating defrost and may need replacement.
