Possible Causes

Spilled food in hidden areas, Blocked or dirty drain pan, Mold growth in door gaskets, Contaminated air filter (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before deep cleaning or removing panels.

Odor removal steps:

  • Empty and clean interior: Remove all food and shelves. Wash all surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then wipe with a baking soda solution.
  • Clean door gaskets: Gently pull back the Vestfrost door seals and clean inside folds where mold can grow.
  • Check and clean drain pan: Access the rear and remove the drain pan. Clean thoroughly with hot soapy water and disinfect, then reinstall.
  • Replace air filter: If your model has an internal deodorizing or carbon filter, replace it according to the manual.
  • Ventilate: Leave doors open for several hours (with power off) to air out the cabinet.

Tip: Keep an open box of baking soda inside to absorb residual odors.
