Possible Causes

Closed or kinked water supply line, Frozen water line in door, Faulty dispenser micro switch, Failed water inlet valve section for dispenser

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and close the water supply before disconnecting hoses.

Steps to restore dispenser flow:

  • Check water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is open and the supply line is not kinked.
  • Test dispenser switch: Listen for a click or valve hum when pressing the dispenser lever. If silent, the micro switch or control may be faulty.
  • Inspect for frozen lines: If the refrigerator is very cold, the water line in the door or near the freezer may be frozen. Raise the fridge temperature slightly and allow time to thaw.
  • Test inlet valve: Use a multimeter to check the dispenser coil on the water inlet valve. Replace the valve if the coil is open or if it does not open when energized.

Note: After thawing or replacing parts, purge air from the line by dispensing water for several minutes.
