Possible Causes
Blocked condensate channel at rear of fridge, Food debris in drain hole, Ice blocking internal drain, Misleveled cabinet causing water to run forward
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before inserting tools into drain channels.
Steps to clear internal water:
- Locate the drain channel: At the back of the fresh food compartment, find the small drain hole or channel where condensation should flow.
- Clean debris: Use a soft brush or pipe cleaner to remove food particles or mold from the channel.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, gently flush warm water through the drain until it flows freely to the rear drain pan.
- Level the fridge: Adjust the front feet so the cabinet tilts slightly backward, encouraging water to flow to the drain.
Note: Avoid using metal tools that can puncture the liner or drain tube.
