Possible Causes
Damaged or warped door gasket, Door not closing fully due to misalignment, Items blocking door from sealing, Door hinge sagging
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No electrical work is required for gasket checks. Unplug only if adjusting hinges near wiring.
Steps:
- Inspect gaskets: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections of the Viking door gaskets.
- Dollar bill test: Close the door on a dollar bill at various points. If it pulls out easily with no resistance, the seal is weak there.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure shelves, bins, or food packages are not preventing full door closure.
- Hinge alignment: If the door appears sagged, adjust the hinges per the installation manual so the door closes squarely.
Corrective action: Replace damaged door gaskets with OEM Viking gaskets. Soak new gaskets in warm water or use a hair dryer on low to help them conform to the frame. Adjust hinges as needed.
