Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off the water supply and unplug the refrigerator before disconnecting any water lines.
Steps:
- Verify water supply: Confirm the shutoff valve is fully open and the supply line is not kinked behind the unit.
- Check filter: Replace the water filter with a new Viking OEM filter or install a bypass plug if available.
- Test valve: With power on, press the dispenser paddle and listen for a click at the inlet valve. If it clicks but no water flows, disconnect the outlet line and see if water reaches that point (use a container).
- Frozen line check: On some models, the water line in the door can freeze. Try turning the refrigerator temperature slightly warmer and leave the door open briefly to warm the area.
Corrective action: Replace the water inlet valve if it does not open with proper voltage or is internally blocked. If the door line is repeatedly freezing, a heater kit or door replacement may be required.
