• Verify door closure: Check that nothing is blocking the door (bins, food packages). Inspect gaskets for warping or tears.
• Check magnet alignment: Some Whirlpool models use a magnet in the door and a reed switch in the cabinet. Ensure the magnet is present and aligned with the sensor.
• Test reed switch: Access the sensor and test continuity while moving a magnet near it. Replace if it does not change state.
• Adjust or replace gasket: If the door does not seal fully, adjust hinges or replace the door gasket.
