• Inspect main control connections: Access the main control board (typically at the rear behind a metal cover). Verify all wire harnesses are fully seated and not burnt or corroded.
• Check for visible board damage: Look for burnt spots, bulging capacitors, or melted traces on the control board.
• Test voltage: With power restored (only if you are trained and have a multimeter), verify correct line voltage to the board and low-voltage outputs per the tech sheet behind the toe grille or rear panel.
• If damage is found: Replace the main control board with the correct Whirlpool OEM part number for your model.
• If the code returns immediately after reset and wiring is good, the control board is likely defective and should be replaced.
