Possible Causes
Frozen water line in refrigerator door, Kinked water line under hinge, Clogged water filter, Faulty dispenser switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off water supply and unplug the refrigerator if removing door panels.
Steps:
- Check filter: Replace the water filter if older than 6 months or if flow is weak.
- Test valve: Listen for the water inlet valve clicking when pressing the dispenser paddle. If it clicks but no water flows, suspect a frozen line.
- Thaw door line: Open the freezer door and gently warm the dispenser area and door edge with a hair dryer on low, moving constantly. Do not overheat the plastic.
- Inspect for kinks: Check the water line where it passes through the bottom hinge for kinks or damage.
- If the line is clear and valve does not energize, test the dispenser switch and replace if faulty.
