Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator. Sealed system work involves refrigerant and must be done by certified personnel.
User-level checks:
- Listen for compressor: When previously powered, did the compressor run (low humming) or remain silent/click repeatedly?
- Check condenser temperature: Carefully feel the condenser coil at the back (when previously running). If always cold, the compressor may not be pumping.
- Inspect start device: A failed start relay/PTC can prevent compressor operation and may be user-replaceable on some models.
When to call a professional: If the compressor runs but there is no cooling, or if you suspect a refrigerant leak or internal blockage, contact an authorised Zanussi refrigeration technician. Do not attempt to open the sealed system yourself.
