Possible Causes
Failed ice maker NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged wiring to ice module, Faulty ice control module or main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the ice maker assembly.
Steps:
- Locate ice maker: In Zanussi side-by-side or top-freezer models with ice, the ice maker is usually mounted on the freezer wall.
- Remove cover: Take off any plastic covers to expose the ice maker module and wiring.
- Find the sensor: The NTC may be clipped to the ice tray or housing. Check for damage or dislodging.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the harness from the ice maker to the cabinet connector is intact and fully seated.
- Test sensor: If accessible, disconnect and measure resistance. Replace if open/shorted.
- Module check: If the sensor and wiring are good, the ice maker module or main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
Note: Ice system diagnostics can be complex; if E9 persists after basic checks, contact a Zanussi service technician.
