Possible Causes
Iced-up air ducts between freezer and fridge, Stuck or broken air damper, Evaporator fan not circulating air, Food items blocking vents
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing internal panels.
Steps:
- Check loading: Ensure large items are not blocking vents at the back or top of the fridge compartment.
- Listen for fan: With the door switch held closed and the unit running, listen for the evaporator fan in the freezer. If silent, investigate the fan.
- Inspect air damper: Remove the upper rear cover in the fridge to access the damper. Check for ice or mechanical obstruction and defrost if necessary.
- Full defrost: If ducts are iced, switch off the fridge and leave doors open for 24 hours with towels to catch water. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.
- Replace faulty parts: If the damper flap is broken or the fan motor is not working, replace the respective component.
