Possible Causes

Front bumper jammed by debris, Broken bumper spring or guide, Faulty collision sensor switch, Loose collision sensor wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the main switch and wait for all movement to stop before touching the bumper area.

  • Release bumper: Gently pull and push the front bumper. It should move freely and return to its neutral position. Remove any trapped branches, stones, or turf.
  • Clean bumper guides: Use a brush to remove grass and dirt from the bumper slides and springs.
  • Inspect springs: Check that the bumper return springs are intact and not broken or detached. Reattach if they have slipped off their hooks.
  • Check collision switches: Remove the front cover to access the collision sensor switches or strip. Ensure they are firmly mounted and that the actuator from the bumper reaches them.
  • Verify wiring: Inspect the cable from the collision sensor to the main PCB. Reseat the connector and look for pin damage.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, power on, and gently press the bumper by hand while the mower is in test mode (if available). If E7 persists, replace the collision sensor assembly.
