Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF with the main switch and remove the battery fuse (if accessible) before opening any covers.
- Check emergency stop button: If your Ambrogio model has a red emergency stop button on top, ensure it is fully released. Press it down and twist or pull (depending on model) to reset.
- Inspect upper cover / handle switch: Open and close the top cover firmly. Many Ambrogio robots have a safety microswitch under the cover or handle. Make sure no grass, debris, or warped plastic is preventing the cover from closing fully. Listen for a faint click when closing.
- Reset tilt condition: Place the robot on a flat, level surface. Turn it OFF for 30 seconds, then ON again. Some models will not clear the safety state if the robot is tilted or upside down.
- Check wiring to safety switch: If comfortable, remove the top cover screws and gently lift the cover. Locate the small safety microswitch and its 2‑wire harness going to the main board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not broken or pinched.
- Power cycle: Reinstall the fuse, turn the main switch ON, and check if E001 clears. If the error persists, the safety input on the main board or the switch itself may be defective.
Warning: Do not bypass or short safety switches for normal operation. This is dangerous and voids warranty. Replace faulty safety components instead.
