Possible Causes

Perimeter wire break, Perimeter wire not connected to charging station, Defective perimeter transmitter board, Loose perimeter terminal screws

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and unplug the charging station from mains before working on the perimeter system.

  • Check charging station LEDs: Most Ambrogio bases have an LED indicating loop status. If it is off or red instead of green, the loop is open or the transmitter has failed.
  • Inspect perimeter wire connections: At the charging station, verify that both ends of the perimeter wire are firmly clamped in the terminals. Tighten screws and ensure there is no corrosion.
  • Look for visible wire damage: Walk the perimeter and check for cuts from gardening tools, animal damage, or exposed wire. Repair breaks using Ambrogio-compatible waterproof connectors.
  • Test loop continuity: Use a multimeter set to resistance to check continuity between the two wire ends at the base. Infinite resistance indicates a break in the loop.
  • Restart system: Plug the base back in, confirm the loop LED is normal, then power ON the robot and clear E005.
  • If the loop LED remains faulty: The perimeter transmitter board inside the charging station may need replacement.
