Possible Causes
Grass or debris jammed in wheel hub, Wheel motor gearbox seized, Wheel bearing failure, Faulty drive motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the lawn.
- Check wheels for obstructions: Inspect both drive wheels and front pivot wheels for stones, branches, or compacted grass between the wheel and chassis. Remove debris.
- Rotate wheels by hand: Each drive wheel should turn with some resistance from the gearbox but not be locked. If one wheel is very stiff or stuck, the gearbox or motor may be damaged.
- Inspect wheel treads: Remove wrapped grass or string from around the wheel axles.
- Test on flat ground: Place the robot on a flat surface, power ON, and start a short manual run. If E008 appears again and the same wheel does not move, suspect that wheel motor.
- Swap wheel motors (advanced): On some Ambrogio models, you can swap left and right wheel motor connectors at the main board to see if the fault follows the motor or stays on the same side (indicating a board issue). Only attempt if you are experienced and the battery is disconnected.
