Possible Causes
Wheel motor overloaded by slope or obstacles, Internal short in motor windings, Gearbox binding, Debris wrapped around axle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn OFF the robot and disconnect from charging. Allow it to cool before touching the motors.
- Inspect wheels: Remove grass, string, or debris from around the wheel axles and hubs.
- Check for free movement: Once cool, rotate each wheel by hand. If one is significantly stiffer, its motor or gearbox may be failing.
- Reduce load: Exclude very steep or rough areas from the mowing zone by adjusting the perimeter wire.
- Replace suspect motor: If the smell returns or the motor becomes very hot quickly, replace the affected Ambrogio wheel motor assembly.
