Possible Causes
Stop button pressed down, Stop button switch stuck or damaged, Upper housing not fully closed, Main board misreading stop circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the mower from the lawn, turn the main power switch OFF, and remove the docking station power plug before working on the unit.
- Check the red STOP button: Press it firmly and then release. On most Bosch Indego models, the STOP button must pop up fully before the mower can start.
- Inspect for debris: Dirt or grass can jam the STOP button. Clean around the button with a soft brush and a slightly damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water.
- Verify housing closure: Ensure the top cover is fully closed and latched. Some models have a safety switch that prevents operation if the cover is open.
- Power cycle: Turn the main switch OFF for 30 seconds, then ON again and check if E001 clears.
- If the error persists: The stop button switch or its wiring may be faulty. Replacement of the stop button assembly or inspection of the main PCB is recommended; if you are not comfortable opening the unit, contact a Bosch service technician.
