Possible Causes
Front bumper stuck in pressed position, Debris jammed behind bumper, Faulty collision sensor switch, Broken bumper spring or mounting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the main power switch OFF and remove the mower from the lawn.
- Inspect the front bumper: Press and release the bumper around its full width. It should move freely and return to its normal position.
- Remove debris: Check the gap between the bumper and chassis for twigs, stones, or packed grass. Clean with a brush and cloth.
- Check for damage: Look for cracks, bent plastic, or missing springs that could prevent the bumper from resetting.
- Test again: Turn the mower ON and see if E003 clears when the bumper moves freely.
- If still faulty: The internal collision sensor (microswitch or sensor strip) or its wiring may be defective. Replacement of the bumper sensor assembly is usually required.
