Possible Causes

Top emergency stop button engaged, Lift sensor stuck or contaminated, Lift sensor wiring harness loose, Main control board safety input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the main power switch OFF and remove the mower from the lawn. Keep hands away from the blades.

  • Check emergency stop button: Ensure the red STOP button on the top cover is fully released. Press it down once and twist or pull (depending on model) to reset. Turn power back ON and see if E01 clears.
  • Inspect lift sensor area: Gently lift the mower and check the underside around the front and rear lift sensor brackets. Remove grass, mud, or debris that may be jamming the sensor.
  • Check lift sensor wiring: With power OFF and battery disconnected, open the top cover (if user‑serviceable) and locate the lift sensor connector on the main control board. Reseat the plug firmly.
  • Test on level ground: Place the mower on a flat, firm surface, power ON, and try to start a manual mow cycle. If the error only appears when lifting, the sensor is working; if it appears constantly, the sensor or board is faulty.
  • Do not bypass safety: Never short or bypass the lift sensor wiring. If the error persists, the lift sensor assembly or main board should be replaced by a qualified technician.
