Possible Causes

Rain sensor plate contaminated, Shorted rain sensor wiring, Faulty rain sensor module, Incorrect sensor calibration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before cleaning the sensor. Do not pour water directly onto the electronics.

  • Locate rain sensor: Identify the rain sensor plate or dome on the top of the mower (refer to Cedrus manual).
  • Clean sensor surface: Wipe the sensor gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, pollen, or dried water spots. Dry thoroughly afterward.
  • Check drainage: Ensure that any drainage holes around the sensor are not blocked, allowing water to clear after rain.
  • Inspect wiring: If accessible, check the sensor cable for damage and confirm the connector is firmly seated on the main board.
  • Test behavior: After cleaning and drying, power ON the mower and see if E12 clears. If the mower always reports rain even when dry, the sensor module may need replacement.
