Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and move it to flat, stable ground before troubleshooting.
- Check slope: Verify the area where the error occurs is within the maximum slope rating in the Cub Cadet manual. Steeper slopes can trigger tilt protection.
- Inspect wheels and traction: Clean mud and wet grass from the drive wheels and front casters. Poor traction can cause sudden tilting.
- Test on flat ground: Start a manual mow on a flat area. If E006 appears even on level ground, the tilt sensor may be faulty or loose.
- Internal check (advanced): With power OFF and battery disconnected, open the top cover and locate the tilt sensor (often a small module or integrated on the main PCB). Ensure it is firmly mounted and not rattling.
- Recalibration: Some models allow tilt sensor calibration via service menu; follow the service manual if available.
If the mower frequently tips or rolls, adjust the working area to exclude steep slopes and edges, and consult a technician for sensor replacement.
