Possible Causes

Aged or failed lithium battery pack, Loose battery connector, Faulty charging circuit in mower, Defective power supply or charging base

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the charging station from mains before handling the mower. Do not short battery terminals.

  • Check docking: Ensure the mower is fully seated on the charging base and the charging icon appears on the display. If not, clean and realign contacts.
  • Charge for extended time: Leave the mower on the base for at least 12–24 hours to recover a deeply discharged pack.
  • Inspect battery connection: With power OFF, open the battery compartment and verify the Cub Cadet battery pack connector is fully engaged and free of corrosion.
  • Check battery age: If the pack is older than 3–5 seasons or runtime has dropped significantly, replacement is likely required.
  • Test with meter (advanced): Measure battery voltage at the pack connector and compare to rated voltage. Very low voltage may indicate cell failure.

Do not attempt to open or repair the battery pack. Replace only with the correct Cub Cadet robot mower battery specified for your model.
