Possible Causes
Mower operating on slope beyond specification, Tilt sensor misaligned or damaged, Loose tilt sensor connector, Mainboard tilt input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the main power and move the mower to flat ground before inspection.
- Check operating area: Verify that the mower is not being used on slopes steeper than the maximum allowed in the Ecovacs manual. Adjust the boundary wire to avoid steep areas.
- Level test: Place the mower on a flat, level surface and turn power ON. If E05 appears immediately, the tilt sensor may be stuck or faulty.
- Inspect sensor mounting: Remove the top cover and locate the tilt sensor module (often a small board or sealed module). Ensure it is firmly mounted and not loose.
- Check wiring: Confirm the tilt sensor connector is fully seated on the mainboard and free of corrosion or damage.
- Reset and test: Power cycle the mower and start a manual mow on flat ground. Gently lift one side a few centimeters to see if the mower safely stops, then returns to normal when level.
If E05 occurs even on level ground and wiring is intact, the tilt sensor module or mainboard should be replaced by a service technician.
