Possible Causes
Mower stuck on obstacle or hole, Excessively wet or muddy grass, Worn drive wheel treads, Wheel speed sensor (encoder) malfunction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main power before freeing the mower from obstacles.
- Remove obstacles: Lift the mower off any roots, edging stones, or holes where wheels are spinning without moving the chassis.
- Check lawn conditions: Avoid mowing when grass is very wet or muddy. Adjust schedule to drier times of day.
- Inspect wheel treads: Examine the drive wheels for worn or clogged treads. Clean out packed grass and consider replacing wheels if the rubber is smooth.
- Boundary adjustment: Move the boundary wire slightly away from steep edges, flower beds, or soft soil areas where the mower frequently gets stuck.
- Test encoders: If E08 appears even on flat, firm ground, a wheel speed sensor may be faulty. Observe whether one wheel behaves erratically or stops intermittently.
Persistent E08 on good terrain suggests a failing drive motor encoder or mainboard. Replace the affected drive motor assembly.
