Possible Causes

Service handle not fully locked down, Handle position switch defective, Wiring to handle sensor damaged, Misaligned handle mechanism

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before adjusting any handles or service positions.

  • Check handle position: Ensure any rear or top service handle is fully lowered and locked into the operating position.
  • Inspect for obstructions: Remove grass or debris preventing the handle from seating correctly.
  • Test switch action: Gently move the handle while listening for a click from the internal switch (if audible). Lack of click may indicate a failed switch.
  • Verify wiring: With the cover removed, check that the handle sensor cable is properly connected to the mainboard.

If E18 remains even when the handle is fully locked, the handle position switch or sensor assembly should be replaced.
