Possible Causes
Grass or debris jammed in rear wheel, Worn wheel bearings, Damaged drive motor gearbox, Mower stuck in a hole or against an obstacle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the mower and wait for all movement to stop before handling it.
- Inspect wheels: Check both drive wheels for stones, twigs, or compacted grass between the wheel and chassis. Remove any obstructions.
- Check ground conditions: Fill in deep holes or ruts where the mower frequently gets stuck. Remove exposed roots or bricks that catch the wheels.
- Spin wheels by hand: Lift the mower and rotate each wheel. They should turn smoothly with some gearbox resistance but no grinding. A stiff or rough wheel may indicate a failing drive motor assembly.
- Clean wheel treads: Remove mud and wet grass from the wheel treads to improve traction.
- Test run: Place the mower on a flat area and start a manual mow. If E7 recurs quickly, the affected drive motor or gearbox may need replacement.
