Possible Causes
Debris jammed in wheel, Damaged wheel bearing, Internal failure of specific wheel motor, Broken gear in Gardena drive gearbox
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Press STOP, switch OFF, and remove the key before lifting the mower.
- Identify side: Gently try to roll each drive wheel by hand. The blocked side will feel stiff or locked.
- Remove debris: Clear grass, stones, or twine from around the affected wheel and axle.
- Check wheel attachment: Ensure the wheel is properly clipped or bolted to the drive shaft and not rubbing against the chassis.
- Inspect gearbox: If the wheel spins freely but the mower reports a block, the internal gearbox may be stripped. Remove the wheel and inspect the drive unit for damage.
- Test run: After cleaning, run the mower on a flat surface and observe if both wheels drive evenly.
If the error persists on the same side, replace the corresponding Gardena wheel motor/gearbox assembly.
