Possible Causes

Grass or debris jammed in cutting disc, Bent cutting disc, Seized blade motor bearings, Faulty blade motor driver on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the main power switch OFF and remove the battery if it is user-removable. Wear cut-resistant gloves before touching the blade area.

  • Flip mower safely: Turn the mower upside down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the cover.
  • Remove debris: Clear any built-up grass, twigs, or rope from around the cutting disc and blade motor shaft. Rotate the disc by hand; it should turn freely without grinding.
  • Inspect blades and disc: Check for bent blades or a warped disc. Replace damaged blades immediately using Greenworks-compatible replacement blades and screws.
  • Check motor movement: With power still OFF, try rotating the motor shaft via the disc. If it is very stiff or locked, the blade motor may be seized.
  • Restart: Turn the mower upright, switch power ON, and clear the error. Start a short manual mow to test.

If E003 returns quickly with no visible obstruction, the blade motor or main control board may be failing and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
