Possible Causes
Broken or disconnected guide wire, Incorrect guide wire connection at station, Faulty guide wire output on station PCB, Interference from buried cables
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and unplug the charging station before working on guide wire terminals.
- Verify guide wire installation: Check that the guide wire is connected to the correct terminals on the charging station as per the Greenworks installation guide.
- Inspect for damage: Walk along the guide wire path and look for cuts, nicks, or places where garden work may have damaged the wire.
- Repair breaks: Use waterproof connectors to repair any damaged sections. Avoid simple twisting or taping.
- Check station indicators: Some stations have separate LEDs for guide wire status. Confirm they show normal operation.
- Test docking: After repairs, plug in the station, power ON the mower, and start a return-to-base command to see if it follows the guide wire.
If E012 persists with a known-good guide wire, the station's guide output or mower's guide receiver circuit may be defective.
