Possible Causes
Dirty or damaged wheel encoder disc, Faulty hall sensor on drive motor, Broken encoder wiring, Main PCB input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the main power switch and tilt the mower carefully to access the drive wheels.
- Inspect wheel hubs: Look for encoder discs or magnets near the drive motors. Check for dirt, grass, or damage.
- Clean encoder area: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove debris from the encoder disc and sensor.
- Check wiring: If visible, ensure the small wires from the motor/encoder to the main harness are intact and not pinched.
- Test movement: After cleaning, power ON and drive the mower a short distance to see if the error reappears.
Persistent E017 usually requires replacement of the affected drive motor (with encoder) or repair of the wiring/PCB.
