Possible Causes
Mower operating on slope steeper than Honda specification, Faulty tilt/incline sensor, Loose sensor mounting, Incorrect calibration after repair
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower before moving it. Avoid working on steep slopes.
- Check slope angle: Verify that the area where the mower stops does not exceed the maximum slope specified in the Honda manual. Relocate the boundary wire to avoid overly steep sections.
- Inspect wheels and traction: Worn drive wheels can slip and cause excessive tilt. Replace wheels if the tread is heavily worn.
- Check sensor mount: Open the housing and locate the incline/tilt sensor. Ensure it is firmly mounted in the correct orientation and has not shifted.
- Reset and test: Power cycle the mower and test on a flat area. If E11 appears even on level ground, the sensor may be faulty.
Persistent E11 on level ground usually requires replacement of the tilt/incline sensor module and, if needed, recalibration using Honda diagnostic tools.
