Possible Causes
Broken boundary wire, Loose boundary wire connection at charging station, Faulty boundary wire transmitter in station, Interference from nearby cables
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and disconnect the charging station from mains power before working on the boundary system.
- Check station indicators: Look at the LED(s) on the Honda charging station. A flashing or off LED often indicates a boundary loop break.
- Inspect boundary connections: At the station, remove the boundary wire ends from the terminals. Trim 1 cm of insulation and reinsert firmly to ensure a good connection.
- Walk the perimeter: Follow the boundary wire around the lawn, looking for visible cuts, damage from gardening tools, or rodent bites.
- Use a wire break locator (if available): Some Honda dealers provide a loop tester. Alternatively, use a basic continuity tester to check sections of the wire until you find the break.
- Repair the wire: Cut out damaged sections and reconnect using waterproof boundary wire connectors approved for underground use.
- Restart system: Reconnect the station to power, verify the boundary LED is solid, then power up the mower and test.
If E7 remains and the loop is intact, the boundary transmitter circuit in the charging station may be defective.
