Possible Causes
Loose or damaged cutting blades, Debris trapped between disc and deck, Worn blade motor bearings, Bent cutting disc contacting housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the mower, remove the key, and wear gloves.
- Inspect blades and screws: Turn the mower over and check that all blades are securely fastened and not broken. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Remove debris: Clear any stones, branches, or packed grass from around the cutting disc and deck.
- Check for contact: Rotate the disc by hand and listen for scraping against the housing. If present, inspect for a bent disc or warped deck.
- Assess motor bearings: If a grinding noise persists with the disc removed, the blade motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
Do not operate the mower with abnormal noises; this can lead to further damage.
