Possible Causes
Broken boundary wire, Loose or corroded boundary wire connector, Boundary wire not connected to charging station, Incorrect boundary loop layout or too narrow passage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Press STOP and turn the main switch OFF. Remove the mower from the lawn before troubleshooting.
- Check charging station LEDs: On most Husqvarna Automower models, a solid green LED on the station indicates a healthy loop. Flashing blue or no light indicates a loop break or fault. Refer to your model’s manual for LED meanings.
- Inspect boundary wire at the station: Ensure both boundary wire ends are firmly inserted into the correct terminals (often marked AR/AL). Tighten screws and check for corrosion. Clean contacts if needed.
- Walk the boundary: Follow the boundary wire around the lawn. Look for visible cuts, chew marks (rodents), or places where garden work may have damaged the cable. Pay special attention to edges near flowerbeds, paths, and where aeration or edging was done.
- Use the mower’s loop test (if available): Many Husqvarna models have a loop test in the menu. Run it to identify if the break is in the boundary or guide wire.
- Repair damaged wire: Cut out the damaged section and reconnect using Husqvarna-approved waterproof splice connectors. Strip about 5–7 mm of insulation, twist wires, insert fully into the gel-filled connector, and crimp firmly.
- Check narrow passages: Ensure the boundary wire is not too close together in corridors. Husqvarna recommends a minimum spacing (often 1.5–2 m) for reliable detection. Adjust layout if mower frequently leaves the area.
- Restart: Turn the main switch ON, place the mower in the charging station, let it connect, then start a test run.
