Possible Causes

Stuck front bumper, Broken bumper spring, Faulty bumper micro‑switch, Bumper sensor cable disconnected from main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the mower OFF and remove it from the lawn before inspecting the bumper.

  • Check bumper movement: Press the front bumper inwards along its full width. It should move freely and spring back. If it feels jammed, remove grass, mud, or stones from the bumper gap.
  • Inspect springs and mounts: Look behind the bumper for broken springs or plastic mounts. Replace damaged bumper components as needed.
  • Test micro‑switch: With the cover removed, locate the bumper micro‑switches. Press the bumper and listen/feel for a click at each switch. If a switch does not click or is physically broken, replace it.
  • Check wiring: Ensure the bumper sensor harness is firmly connected to the LandXcape main PCB and that no wires are pinched.
  • Functional test: After cleaning and reassembly, power the mower ON and start a test run in an open area. If E8 persists, the bumper sensor circuit on the main board may be defective and require board replacement.
