Possible Causes

Broken guide wire, Incorrect connection of guide wire to station, Damaged guide wire insulation causing short, Faulty guide wire output on station PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the charging station from mains before working on wiring.

  • Check station connections: Verify the guide wire is connected to the correct terminals on the Makita charging station and that screws are tight.
  • Inspect guide path: Follow the guide wire route from station into the lawn. Look for cuts, exposed copper, or damage from tools or rodents.
  • Repair damage: Use waterproof connectors to repair any breaks. Ensure joints are buried or pegged securely.
  • Continuity test: With both ends disconnected, measure resistance across the guide wire. Infinite resistance indicates a break.
  • Power and test: Reconnect, power the station, and check for normal guide wire indicator. Clear E11 on the mower and test docking/undocking.

If the guide wire is intact but E11 remains, the guide output circuit on the charging station may be defective and need replacement.
