Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation openings, Faulty internal cooling fan, Operating in direct sun at high ambient temperature, Dust buildup on electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the mower and allow it to cool in the shade.
- Check vents: Inspect all ventilation slots and openings on the Makita mower for grass, dust, or spider webs. Clean with a soft brush.
- Avoid direct sun: Position the charging station in a shaded area and avoid scheduling mowing during peak heat.
- Listen for fan: When powered ON, listen for the internal cooling fan. If it never runs, the fan may be faulty.
- Internal cleaning: If you can safely open the housing, gently blow out dust from the PCB and fan using dry compressed air.
- Reset: After cooling and cleaning, clear E13 and test.
If E13 recurs quickly in moderate temperatures, the temperature sensor or cooling fan assembly may need replacement.
