Possible Causes
Dirty or wet ultrasonic sensor lenses, Faulty obstacle sensor module, Loose sensor wiring, Insect nests in sensor openings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the mower before cleaning sensors.
- Locate sensors: Identify the front-facing ultrasonic or IR obstacle sensors on your Makita model.
- Clean lenses: Wipe sensor windows gently with a soft, dry cloth. Remove spider webs, mud, or grass.
- Check for cracks: Inspect sensor housings for damage that could let water in.
- Wiring check: If accessible, ensure the sensor module connector is firmly seated.
- Reset and test: Power ON, clear E19, and run a short test in an open area.
If E19 recurs with clean, undamaged sensors, the obstacle sensor module may need replacement.
